    Industrial-grade magnesium hydroxide is a white, odorless, non-toxic and halogen-free hexagonal crystal or amorphous powder with a density of approximately 2.36g /cm³. It is chemically stable at normal temperature and almost insoluble in water (with a solubility of only 0.0009g /100g at 20℃). Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline (pH≈9.5-10.5), and it belongs to the environmentally friendly type of medium to strong alkali. Magnesium hydroxide decomposes into magnesium oxide and water at high temperatures ranging from 340℃ to 350℃. This process can absorb a large amount of heat, release water vapor to dilute oxygen, and endow it with excellent flame retardant, smoke suppression and filling functions. It is an ideal additive in fields such as plastics, rubber, and environmental water treatment.

    The field of flame-retardant materials

    • Engineering plastics: Applicable to high-temperature processing engineering plastics such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and nylon (PA), effectively replacing aluminum hydroxide (due to its higher decomposition temperature).
    • Rubber and cables: Used for cable sheaths, mining conveyor belts, insulating materials, enhancing flame retardancy and reducing smoke generation.
    • Building materials and coatings: Added to fireproof coatings and fireproof boards, it forms a magnesium oxide insulation layer when heated, delaying the spread of fire.

    The field of environmental protection treatment

    • Acidic wastewater neutralization: Replace caustic soda/lime, used in electroplating and chemical wastewater treatment, avoiding sudden pH rise, mild and easy to control reaction.
    • Heavy metal removal: Through surface adsorption and precipitation, heavy metal ions such as Pb²⁺, Cu²⁺, and Cr³⁺ in wastewater are effectively removed.
